Stork-Fokker Woensdrecht is ready with the first batch refurbished F16C-50.
An agreement between Fokker Aerospace Woensdrecht and the South Korea airforce, results in the delivery of the first 4 prototypes of AF16C-50.
This F16 has his 25mm gatling gun replaced by the 30mm Gau8. This concept is not new, the US-Airforce tried this 15 years ago and the experiment turned out to be a failure. At that time, the F16 couldn’t handle the heat and the recoil of this tremendous gun. Fokker Aerospace found a solution. Details were not revealed.
South-Korea fears a huge force of tanks crossing their borders. This flying anti-tank gun should fill the gape between the maverick and the cluster bomb.
